Privacy Policy

Dr. Clark’s practice is, obviously, a medical practice, and we, like every other health care provider, are obliged, by federal and state government law and regulation, to keep your personal health information (PHI) confidential and protected. You may have notice that we do not collect any information here on the site. Indeed, the site itself is purely informational and very basic. We simply avoid the risks and travails of dealing with PHI on the web by not asking for it, collecting it, or anything like that.

But we also want you to know that, in the process of enrolling a you or someone else as a patient in Dr. Clark’s practice, and at all times in the provision of care, billing, and every other act in our efforts to provide the best possible mental health care, when we collect, store and use your personal health information, we do our utmost to protect it, and we do not share it with others without your prior consent or when required by law. The only possible exception to this would be in emergency circumstances wherein, if in our best judgement, it is necessary to share PHI in order to prevent serious injury, illness, or death.

Of particular note regarding mobile phone numbers, SMS/texting, and email addresses is the following:

No mobile phone number information or email addresses of patients is, are, or will be shared with third parties/affiliates or anyone else for marketing/promotional purposes, or for any other reason, except with your prior consent, except when, in our best judgement, it is necessary to do so in order to prevent serious illness, injury, or death.

When we register you in our system as a new patient with Dr. Clark, you are asked to indicate, in writing, on our Communications Preferences form, whether you wish to receive SMS/text messages from the practice at the mobile number you provide. If you indicated that you wish to receive SMS/text messages, you agree that we, the practice of Dr. Anne Clark, may send text messages to you for purposes related to the making of appointments, reminders for appointments, and other administrative tasks of similar nature. Message and data rates may apply, as determined by your carrier. When you receive an SMS/text message from us, you may Opt-out by replying “STOP”, or you may call the office at 913-738-9235 and request that we no longer send you SMS/text messages. If you do so, you understand that such will result in you NOT receiving SMS/text message reminders of any upcoming appointments.

For more information about how we handle your protected personal health information, and your other privacy rights regarding your care, please ask to see our Notice of Privacy Practices, or read it for yourself here.
